SARJIT BAINS

Sarjit Bains, born in Hillingdon/UK, is a film maker based in the UK. He is of Punjabi Indian origin. A trained photographer and film editor, he completed his second feature film ‘Cash & Curry’ in 2008 which won the audience award at London’s Portobello Film festival. His home town of Southall is a place of an ever changing migrant population. It is in Southall where he found inspiration for his most recent project ‘Foji’. It is a story of a young illegal immigrant who leaves his village in India and travels thousands of miles to seek a better life in the UK.
