GAZMEND KAPLLANI

Gazmend Kapllani was born in Lushnje, Albania. In January 1991, he crossed the border into Greece as an immigrant. He worked there as builder, cook and kiosk attendant while also studying at Athens University. He completed a Ph.D. on the image of Albanians in the Greek press and of Greeks in the Albanian press. Freelancing since 1999, today he is one of the most renowned columnists in Greece. His first novel “A Short Border Handbook” is an exhilarating and black-humoured exploration of migration and borders. Gazmend Kapllani lives in Athens.
